Christmas is my favourite time of year! Always has and always will be. I love everything about this festive time of year even the parts which most may find boring such as wrapping, planning and cooking. Unforunatley, all of those tasty indulgences contain heaps of calories which have often seen me gain as muh as 8 pounds during those final two weeks of the year.
Christmas is a time for family, for friends too.....there's nothing better than bringing together all of the people you love and putting them in the same room, enjoying great food, conversation
and laughter. The trick is knowing when to STOP eating and STOP drinking because with Christmas comes staff parties, chocolate and lots of turkey! This Christmas is going to be extra special because its our first year together in our new home, this means for the first time as a couple we've had the opportunity to chose a Christmas tree, carefully select baubles and generally get excited together. It was brilliant watching him put the star on our very first tree, such a happy moment for me. Im like a little girl again, so excited.
Traditionally, every year I love to bake for the holidays....I make mince pies, ginger bread men and this year I'm attempting my very first Yule-log. The silly thing is....I don't particularly like mince pies (ill still have one seeing as its Christmas) and simply bake these tasty treats to see others enjoy them....bizarre hey. If I stay the same weight now until the New year I wouldn't grumble.....It'll be a miracle in itself if I don't gain over Christmas but i'm ready and willing to face that challenge head on!
