This blog will be a productive way of venting my emotions in a safe & creative way.
I recently read a good friends blog about general day-to-day observations; online dating, social networking and so on. Whilst reading I was shocked to discover that mid way through her rant about the negative aspect of internet dating she made a comment about people being conned into meeting up with unsuitable date; FAT forty year old individuals. It still surprises me that even in today's society anyone over a size 12 is regarded as undesirable....well try telling that to my Andrew, we met online nearly three years ago and couldn't be happier, I truly have found my best friend, my soul mate. These sort of views really astonished me as they came from a so called friend.
Then today, I discovered a fellow blogger had faced ridicule and unnecessary cruel comments in response to a picture of her modelling her latest fashion likes which featured on both Evans' & Simply Be's Facebook pages. I appreciate that everyone has their own preference in regards to fashion but there is simply no need for disgusting comments which people only deliver in hopes of improving the way they see themselves. For example I hate neon colored fashion but I know there ARE people who LOVE them, I express my opinion but I never make the comments personal or vicious. Most of those comments came from woman as large as a size 32, naturally you would assume this category of women would embrace individuality and confidence in a woman but instead they tried their very best to suppress it. The blogger who received the comments mentioned dealt with the situation with grace and pride. Although Iv only been following this inspirational blogger for a few weeks I certain she will only use those negative comments as a way of reaffirming her unique style and confidence.
This world really does astonish me at times. Women should stand together in support of one another, plus size women even more so to fight the stigma that's quite obviously still out there.
