Every week I purchase my beloved 'Closer' magazine...and every week I'm confronted with a reminder that making the smaller changes to my diet now will get me to where I want to be physically in the long run.
Its always lovely to read about recovering chocoholics who've changed dramatically for the better and appear to be winning the weight-loss battle, however its also a nice reminder that everyones human when you read the update and realise that just like you they get tempted and 'fall off the wagon' from time-to-time.
The truth is...NO woman will ever be 100% truely happy with how they look...often, those that make being 'perfect' their life's mission actually end up making themselves look like sloth (google the film 'goonies') instead.
Some magazines only promote 'beauty' in the form of a rather depressed looking size 8 blonde but fi Im honest I wouldn't like the thought of any neice, daughter or grandaughter of mine aspiring to be that thin if it clearly makes her THAT miserable. I have seen women size 26+ totally happy with who they are and oozing with confidence, if theyre happy and theyre no major health risks then I say 'leave them alone!'. Gemma from TOWIE lost lots of weight through pushing her self during a short spout at bootcamp for which I respect and admire her for because I personally have NO motivation in the exercise department. BUT.....what I thinks LESS attractive is to see how she still continues with this diet even though it clearly makes her miserable and paranoid that everyone's watching her eat. She says she was happy whilst she was fat and admits that her soul reason for loosing weight is to get her a lovely Essex boy...again I lost a little bit of respect for her at that point as NO woman should lose weight just for a man, theres ONE reason and ONE reason only (apart from improving one's health) that a woman should perhaps shed a few pounds....and thats to feel great about themselves, feel sexy and make them feel like they could achieve anything!
